Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience

14 July – 25 July 2025

Hosted by Peking University

Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience explores the fascinating puzzle of the developing brain, focusing on how genes and experience interact to shape brain development and, ultimately, who we are. It introduces key concepts in social, cognitive, and emotional development, with an emphasis on how neuroscience helps to raise and answer critical developmental questions.

We’ll examine how brain structures change from childhood to early adulthood, the tools researchers use to study the developing brain, and the neural mechanisms behind functions like attention, language, memory, and face perception. The course also addresses how neuroscience may help predict the development of psychopathology.
