Gender & Sexuality: Pasts, Presents, and Futures

05 August - 14 August 2024

Hosted by

University of Copenhagen

This course explores issues of gender and sexuality in the contemporary world with a special emphasis on LGBTQ+ issues.

With Denmark as our starting point, we will broaden our perspective and discuss the worldwide debate on this topic.

The central questions are these: How has history formed our present understanding of gender and sexuality? And how do we utilize this knowledge to shape a future? We will explore this through reading, discussing, exploring the city, visiting activist organizations in Copenhagen, and having international experts teach and discuss with us.
