Cross-Cultural Internship Opportunities

The GIP aims to provide IARU students the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience by conducting research and projects in another member university. Such internships enable students to gain real insights into their host university and provide an exciting platform to build cross-cultural understanding.

GIP internships are only available to students enrolled at IARU universities.

INTERSECT Internship – University of Copenhagen

The INTERSECT Research Hub invites applications 
for a dynamic internship that supports interdisciplinary collaboration across arts, humanities, social sciences, and design. Interns will help expand the hub’s community, enhance outreach, and promote its mission focused on cities, landscapes, and social justice.

Duration: 2–8 weeks (Aug–Dec 2025)
Mode: In-person or online
Funding: $3,000 USD

University of Tokyo Research Internship Program (UTRIP)

UTRIP offers a fully funded summer research experience for international undergraduates at the University of Tokyo’s School of Science. Interns conduct hands-on research in cutting-edge labs and engage in cultural and language activities designed to deepen their understanding of Japan and UTokyo’s academic environment.

Duration: 6 weeks (25 June – 5 August 2025)
Mode: In-person
Funding: Up to 170,000 JPY
