Several research groups at ETH Zurich work on data acquisition, evaluation and interpretation, and control electronics for NASA’s unmanned InSight mission.
At ETH, Prof Domenico Giardini is the co-principal investigator of the seismometer onboard NASA’s InSight Mars Mission. In 2018, InSight installed a geophysical observatory to monitor marsquakes and use them to investigate its deep interior. This allows us to better understand the formation of the planet and its current tectonic activity.
